SHINee sells 90,000 albums in Japan, surpassing Super Junior

SHINee released its Japanese debut single “Replay – you are my everything” on 22 June. The debut single, a Japanese version of their Korean debut song “Noona Is So Pretty,” sold a total of 91,000 copies in its first week and was placed 2nd on the Oricon weekly singles chart for July 4th. It is remarkable because they broke a record in the category of Korean group’s debut single in Japan.

Beast’s “Shock”, MBlaq’s “Your Love”, and Super Junior’s “Bonamana” have also been placed 2nd on the Oricon chart, but SHINee is the first group whose debut single sold almost 100,000 in its first week.

SHINee also attracted the attention of the public when they performed live at the Abbey Road Studios in London for the first time as Asian artists. They are planning to continue their promotional activities for “Replay” in Japan.
